I'm a Korean-American adoptee living in Seoul, getting my MA in Anthropology (yes, taking all of my classes in Korean TT). In my spare time, I volunteer at two great organizations: Korean Unwed Mothers' Families Association (KUMFA) and the Women's Global Solidarity Action Network (WGSAN) - a group that works on various issues, including with the survivors of military sexual slavery during WWII ("Comfort Women"). I also love cooking and baking and going to the noraebang ^^

My wife and I are thinking of adopting and shockingly found in Texas, the cost for a white infant was $35,000 and the cost of a black infant was $17,000 – these are published numbers on private adoption websites.

this is why people want babies from korea and china. $20,000-$30,000, no huge wait like you have to for a white baby AND added bonus, asian kids are obedient little prodigies in the making. plus if you get a little girl, you can dress her up like a little doll and people will ooooh and ahhh over her while they call you a saint for saving her from the life of prostitution ($5 me love you long time) that she surely would’ve lived. also, if you’re white and can’t get a white baby, no one is going to take you to task for adopting an Asian baby like they would for adopting a black baby, after all Asians are kind of almost like white people! There should be no discomfort about how a white family raising an Asian baby is going to properly give their child race/ethnic consciousness like there is about a white family raising a black baby because Asians are the model minority and don’t face discrimination anyways.
